Yes, on the photo. Poland used to be a lot bigger. It encompassed parts of the Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Germany. The Soviets redrew the maps, creating the countries you see today. I'm constantly talking to Poles who say, we had land, or estates, or a house in these places, sometime in the not so distant past, but lost it. Michner wrote a book in English titled "Poland", It is an interesting historical novel, well written, and quite factual. I recommend it to anybody who wants to try to understand the Poland of today. Lots of interesting parallels.
