What do they do in Poland on their INDEPENDENCE DAY? How do they celebrate? Is it similar to U.S.?
I am sure I could search the Internet for the answer but I'd rather ask all of you?

Re: What day of the year is Poland's "4th of July?"
Thu, July 21, 2005 - 3:57 PMMay 3 was Consitution Day - in observance of the 1791 constitution. I don't know if it is an official holiday but I remember during the Solidarity period it was always an excuse for big protests after the official May Day holiday on the 1st. -

I don't remember if it's a day off from work or school but I think so.
There are patriotic movies on tv, president goes to the national "Grave of unknown soldiers" in Warsaw and puts flowers on in. Maybe even prays. It is televized.
Other than that I don't there's anything else going on. No fireworks. It is a serious holiday. Usually it's cold out anyway... -
